Canadian Experience:
Northumberland Heights Wellness Retreat and Spa Cobourg
- Envisioning, conceptualizing, planning, setting up and operating a luxury wellness retreat and spa hotel at Northumberland Heights Wellness Retreat and Spa in Cobourg.
- Transformed a low end, run-down property, to a luxurious Spa hotel and created a product that was unique in the Canadian landscape.
- Carried out end-to end services through various phases:
- Project initiation phase- In charge of applying for permits, hiring the design team and contractor, ordering all the furniture, equipment, collaterals, linen, accessories, cutlery, crockery and artifacts from Canada and India.
- Project funding- Managed local funding of $3mn in an environment where not many foreign companies are provided with institution backed financial support.
- Recruitment and Training Phase- In charge of hiring the entire team, which included numerous specialists from abroad. Trained the staff and developed well-defined KPIs .
- Delivery Phase- Launched the newly renovated, 14 room luxury property which featured the first Ayurvedic spa in Canada which provided the most authentic treatments and used products made following centuries-old recipes.
- Food and Beverage- Designed the food and beverage services which included a banquet hall for 120 people, a full-service restaurant and bar, 24 hrs lounge café, barbeque pits and lake view 50-seater patio.
- Expansion permits- In spite of being on the moraine ( Reserve Forest) managed to get expansion plans approved from the city for the next stage of the project.
- Sales & Marketing- Social media marketing, magazine advertisements, conferences and much more.
